Last month I had the priveledge to work together with Geert Willem, the craftsman and owner of BEHOUT. Behout offers high quality, handmade and bespoke furniture for the modern naturalist. His style is simple and modest with an impeccable eye for detail and function. His furniture makes me think of the slowpace of Japanese woodworkers and the simplicity and warmth of Scandinavian design. Geert Willem uses repurposed wood mostly and, in many pieces, chooses to combine it with locally forged dark and sturdy steel.
I was asked to style and photograph some of BEHOUT’s bespoke furnishings at four different locations. The images taken will be used for his website as well as promotional purposes.
Enjoy this selection of images of his beautiful lowboard, dining table, bookcase and shelving system. And many many thanks to By Mölle, Woodchuck, Anne Werfklei Ceramics and Klevering for providing the thoughtfully inspired styling props.
